I te tau 2006 katoa ngā tūranga teitei rawa o Aotearoa he wāhine te kaipupuru – ko Te Kuīni, ko Irihāpeti II tērā, ko te Kāwana Tianara, ko Silvia Cartwright tērā, ko te Pirīmia, ko Helen Clark tērā, te Kaikōrero o te Whare Pāremata, ko Margaret Wilson tērā, ko te Kaiwhakawā Matua, ko Sian Elias tērā. Ko Aotearoa te whenua kotahi anake i te ao kia pērā.

In 2006 all the highest positions of office were held by women – Queen Elizabeth II, Governor General Silvia Cartwright, Prime Minister Helen Clark, Speaker of the House of Representatives Margaret Wilson and Chief Justice Sian Elias. Aotearoa New Zealand is the only country in the world where this has ever occurred.
